Our Health Care Initiatives / Fostering a Healthy World...

Health Clinic:

The Foundation will promote access to health care by helping to provide a free clinic in the community so that all citizens, impoverished or not, will have access to health care.  Our goal is to first attain rental space in the various rural areas to hold the free clinic.  This free clinic will be held twice a month and will be staffed with health care volunteers.  The volunteers will include a family practice physician and other health professionals.  Each Physician will be asked to donate one weekend a month towards the evaluation and treatment of inhabitants of rural areas.  Donations of medications from Pharmaceutical Companies will also be offered along with local medications for free at the clinic.  Through its efforts to promote access to health care, the Foundation will work with various partners  to provide medical equipment to rural area hospitals and clinics, as well as to the free family practice clinic.

Health Education:

Health Education will be achieved through the provision of educational health books/pamphlets covering topics such as nutrition, as well as offering free classes and training on CPR and good hygeine. Our goal is to secure these books and pamphlets throught donations and grants. These materials will then be circulated by volunteers who will use them to teach and educate the community on living healthy lifestyles.  The Okunsanya Foundation will seek local volunteers from the health care industry.

Health Nutrition:

The Okunsanya Foundation plans to help facilitate healthy nutrition by first tackling the challenges of sanitation in rural areas. Our goal is to provide a clear water filtering system as well as the construction of a water borehole for rural schools to aid with a clean water supply system. In addition, the Foundation will partner with independent third party individuals to provide breakfast for school children and to provide educational information highlighting the importance of 3 meals a day.  This initiative will be funded by donations and business partnerships with contractors and chefs.
